Resedit (C) Apple - again available as per Macsbug.
If you have difficulty getting hold of these (they are free) then contact Lightsoft.
Distribution of this archive.
Fantasm is a specialist product not of interest to everybody. However, we feel it vitally important that the Macintosh community have access to a stand alone assembly language development system, that doesn't cost a fortune. If you have the opportunity to upload this demo to an on-line organisation, or shareware library, then please do, as it benefits not only us (Lightsoft), but the whole Mac community as a whole. Even if you have no interest in assembly language, there are lots of other Mac users who do, and will thank you for your efforts, as we do in advance - Thank you.
If you are using this archive for a CD, or uploading it to a Bulliten Board or on-line
organisation, all we ask is you use the original archive intact, as every single file
is important. If you are compiling a CD for commercial distribution, please contact us
for the latest unreg. version. Thanks.
Whats not included in this unregistered version?
The full version of PowerFantasm comes on seven HD floppy disks. To get an unregistered version out has meant we've had to leave a lot out.
Both Fantasm and Eddie have time limits imposed on them, and various other facilities are missing. Lots of documentation has been left out.
The full versions of Fantasm and PowerFantasm come in at 13 and 21 megabytes respectively.
What are the limitations of this unregistered version?
Fantasm:
No PowerPC FPU maths instructions allowed.
Limits on size of code you can produce.
No libraries source code.
Limited number of PowerPC header files.
No shared libraries allowed apart from InterfaceLib.
No assembling for Atari ST or outputting a straight binary file.
Various other minor ommissions.
No reference manual (181 A4 pages).
Cut down user manual (full electronic version is 164 A4 pages).
Only a few essential headers are provided.
Eddie:
No "search all files" feature.
Won't boot after 30 days.
General:
Various ommisions in documentation, beginners guide and example source code etc.
The user manual has been produced in black and white to save space.
NOTE: Eddie and PowerFantasm work together quite closely. We suggest you always launch the system by booting Eddie - this is a demo limitation..
Also, Fantasm will occasionally throw unregistered alerts at you if you exceed the demo limits. This means you will have to go to Fantasm to click "Ok". Eddie will tell you in it's status line when and if you need to do this.
We have found it extrememly difficult creating a demo that doesn't hold up the natural proceedings.
We hope you can understand the necessity of putting limitations on the demo - we don't like it - indeed the limitations can cause problems as Eddie is multitasking and really doesn't expect to have it's control disrupted by an unscheduled alert box!
We suggest you read through the user manual first - simply double click the user
manual - it is a self reading document. If you have WWW access we would strongly advise visiting our WWW pages.
